Aunt Girlie, as she is known to some, has always made us feel welcome when we would go to her home for a visit. Whether it was for a summer BBQ, Christmas or birthday celebration, she would always make sure that everyone was having a good time. This is what we will most remember you for, your kindness, your commitment and fierce love of family. We will surely miss you. May the love of God be with you through all eternity. RIP.

We are delighted that Mettelia came into our lives. She was so wisdom-filled and driven and was always ready to share a story from a wide range of disciplines. She was an avid gardener and took pride in her flowering plants. She passionately loved family and community and we truly got to know her deeply as we travelled together to many parts of Europe. She has left for us a great legacy – one built on hard work and determination. Illumined by perpetual light, may she rest in peace and rise in glory.

It was a pleasure and honour to have known Mettelia. Even though I met her only 12 or so years ago, it did not take me long to realise that she was a unique individual who loved her family and cared very much for her friends. What I admired most about her was her lack of "airs". What you saw was what you got, and that was a confident lady of quality. She will be missed by all who knew her but will never be forgotten.
Sincere sympathies to all her family.

Mommy Ferguson has left many gifts to this earth. She was a woman ahead of her time: a savvy business person, a leader, a humanitarian and a sage. But I will remember her most for her passionate love for, and devotion to, her family. She was an adored and revered matriarch, who bestowed upon her children a fiery pride, an unshakable, loving connection and a commitment to hard work and accomplishment. She loved her Jamaica to her very core and brought it’s values to this country. I will remember, with great fondness, the mischievous twinkle in her eyes, knowing, that she is watching over her flock. Sleep well sweet and sassy Mommy Ferguson.
