Hey Mama C. You are the sweetest, most gentle person I know. You were robbed of SO MUCH dealing with schizophrenia and a host of other health challenges over the years, yet your kind demeanour & spirit never waned. You loved having having friends and family around - the door wouldn't be closed behind us, before an offer of coffee or dinner was extended. Wow - so many "mama Maria" memories are flooding in. Your homemade gnocchi, lasagne and that turkey. NO ONE could make a juicy turkey like you. To this day we don't know how you did it cause for some reason, one step of the instructions were always left out (wink wink) Your love of baking, and that huge rubbermaid tub of chocolate chip cookies or crostoli surely added a few pounds to everyone who enjoyed them. You loved your jewellery and never went without a necklace (or two or three) around your neck and rings on your fingers. I'm smiling right now thinking of your 'bursa' (purse) - it went everywhere with you. Even at Malton Village going for meals, the staff would reassure you that your 'bursa' would be safe in your room. Nope - you wouldn't have it - it went with you, dangling from your walker. And your hair. Your face would light up after getting your hair done. I can see your smiling face now just thinking about it. Maria - you are in God's garden now and I'm sure you are already picking out your favourite flowers. I will miss you, but know your angel spirit will be watching over & whispering "Good luck to all of us"
Much Love Debbie
