Forever remembered by his brother Tony, Giovanni (Pina), sister Rose (Domenico), Michele and Antonia. Zio Ciccio will be remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Frank, born in Gagliato, Calabria, Italy, was a Renaissance man: a poet, a gentleman, a great father whose word and respect meant the utmost to him. When mom and I arrived in Toronto in 1963 to finally be with dad, it was our beloved zio Ciccio and zia Giovannina that took us in and gave us an apartment on the second floor of their Dovercourt Variety Store. There we shared many wonderful memories and many life-lessons learned. I don't remember how long we stayed there but I'm sure that if I could ask zio Ciccio he would give me the exact date. He was such an intelligent man, ahead of his time. One trait that I distinctly remember about zio is that if anyone was celebrating an achievement, be it an academic degree, an accomplishment, or a new home he was whole heartedly proud and happy for us. I wanted to tell him how much I loved him when I last spoke to him before his surgery but unfortunately I started to cry and the words did not come out. So zio, we love you very much. Rest in peace until we meet on the other side, as you said, you would be waiting for us with an espresso. You were an icon for our family. On behalf of my dad, Nicola Sinopoli who loved and treated zio like a brother, and my family we extend our heartfelt condolences to zia Giovannina, John, Robert and your families.
