To my nonno Franco,
You were funny, caring, and above all, loving. Growing up, Sunday’s were my favourite day of the week because we would eat a beautiful lunch made by nonna, and then we would watch Serie A all day long. Together, we watched Italy win their 4th World Cup which meant and still means a lot to the both of us. You enjoyed teaching me how to play Scopa, and enjoyed beating me every time even greater. You had the most hilarious jokes and an even funnier laugh that never failed to make me smile even in the darkest of days. Our daily phone calls about soccer, school and most importantly, life were always the highlight of my day. The way you would answer the phone with such excitement just to talk to me always lifted my spirits. You would walk me to the bus stop before school every morning and loved to hang out after school. However, the most significant and relevant lesson you taught me was to love all but to trust few, and that family will always be the most important thing in life. You were such a wise and brilliant person and if I live to become half the man you were, I’d be more than content. I just wish I could hear you call me ‘Deniu Mio’ one last time. Till we meet again, amico mio. Rest in Paradise❤️🕊, Daniele
